The ceramic tradition of Montelupo Fiorentino has very ancient origins. Already in the Middle Ages, in fact, the small Tuscan town of Montelupo Fiorentino was the main ceramic production center in the whole Florentine area and still today it continues this production in an active way, also targeting international markets.
For the sake of the Montelupo history and with a desire to bring curious and passionate people closer to the ancient ceramic art, the truest and purest essence of our city, we have devised courses for hobbyists.
The courses provide the basis for a introduction to the world of ceramics by experimenting with the main ceramic working techniques: from the pottery wheel to mould making, from traditional and classic decoration on earthenware and base glaze to particular other applications, with knowledge of firing in a kiln involved and other production techniques.
These courses are ideal for those who want to turn a passion into a real, practiced hobby and, who knows, possibly into something more.
